Wedding PhotoAbout us

Established in 1993, Magic Moments is a full-time professional film company specialising in wedding DVDs of exceptionally high quality.

Richard is one of only 18 wedding videographers in the UK to achieve Fellowship Level at the Institute of Videography. He also holds the Certificate in Wedding Film-making from the London School of Photography, has been awarded a Certificate with Distinction in the Wedding Video category by the Association of Professional Videomakers and has gained his Licentiateship with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP).

From the start it was Richard's ambition to create a truly outstanding product along with a completely professional service. He was passionate about raising the standard and profile of 'the wedding video'.

Over the years and with several hundred happy (and sometimes ecstatic!) customers, Magic Moments has gained an excellent reputation not only amongst its former clients but also with other professionals working in the wedding industry - some of whom have been clients themselves.

Richard believes that the key to the company's success has been its basic philosophy 'excellence in all things' which it applies to every aspect of the business be that filming, post-production, or customer service. Second best is just not acceptable and Magic Moments continues to set itself new standards as the industry and technology progresses.

wedding photoThe DVD

We film in a modern documentary style, being as discreet and unobtrusive as possible. We do not orchestrate any part of the day unless there is something that you have particularly requested.

Two cameras are used as standard on every wedding but in a different way to most other companies. The variety and type of shots, together with our style of editing, means that your DVD will be entertaining from start to finish for all who watch it.

WE CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH the importance of SEEING the videographer's work as styles and standards (unfortunately!) do vary considerably. Glossy brochures, flashy websites and impressive-sounding text may turn out to be much more attractive than the video itself! A series of 'highlights' can also look very captivating but again, it leaves you with absolutely no idea of what the actual wedding video will look like.

  • That you check how established the company is.

  • That you ask how experienced the videographer is and that work you have seen is that of 'your' videographer as some companies contract out.

  • That you do not base your choice on cost alone. You will probably have a budget in mind but try to remain a little flexible as you could waste ALL your money on a cheap video that isn't worth watching, whereas if you spend that little bit more the results could be priceless. Also, the most expensive company may not necessarily be the best or have a 'style' that you like.

  • That as you will be watching this for a long time to come, just consider how it will stand the test of time i.e. the style, the music etc.

The following is just a very small selection of comments taken from some of the many letters of thanks we have received over the years - all of which are available to view at our Studio. Our clients have included people from the media and television industry (in front of and behind the camera), and the wedding industry itself...

First up is a complete letter (just in case you dont want to read them all) which basically sums up what we do and people's response to it.

"Many thanks for the video and all the hard work you put into it! You did a brilliant job and we have enjoyed watching it again (and again) as it captures the day so well. All our friends and family who have seen it so far, have also been impressed and have commented on what a professional job you did. Everybody has been far more interested in watching the video than seeing the photos!

We were quite hesitant about whether we should have a video at first; mainly because of the poor quality wedding videos we had both seen of friend's weddings. As guests we also found the video recorder intrusive and downright embarrassing when we were asked to say something for posterity to camera. It's a good job we went to you! The quality of the editing and shooting is excellent, and nobody seems to have been bothered by being filmed, they just got on with enjoying themselves.

Perhaps the best thing is that we get to see things that we missed on the day because we weren't actually present, as well as little things that we'd forgotten because there was so much going on. You just don't get this with photos. It's a marvellous memento of our special day.

Many thanks once again"

"After having numerous viewings of our wedding DVD for all our family and friends, the feedback from everyone has been one of "that was brilliant". We really cannot put it into words the pleasure we have had from watching our wedding day over and over again. We have begun spreading the word of what Magic Moments can achieve and hopefully they will have the sense to give you a call... Once again, many thanks, take care and hopefully it wont be too long before we see you again."

Mr & Mrs Sanderson

"Just to say thank you SO much for our video. I was so adamant not to have one as I thought it would be intrusive and yet we didn't notice you there at all. We have the most wonderful memories of our day and now we can watch it over and over again! You've done the most wonderful job and its made us laugh and cry. Thank you so very, very much."

Fiona and Martin

"Thank you so much for your excellent video of our wedding... ALL of our friends and family have commented on it being the best they have ever seen... and it will be a joy to keep re-watching it for many years to come."

Kirsty and Scott

"It is difficult to express how much joy and pleasure our wedding video has brought us... it was and is worth every penny... we have watched it time and time again with our family and friends... I can't count the times that people have commented that it is the best wedding video they have ever seen... everyone felt at ease having you around... I wanted you to know how much we appreciated all your hard work... Hope to see you again in the not too distant future."

Helen and Steve

"I think we have watched the DVD 20 times now and it still brings a tear to our eye and of course a few giggles... We've had so many comments on what an excellent DVD you put together for us... I think we should have ordered more than one copy for ourselves as I think the one we have is about to wear out... you captured some classic moments that we will treasure forever... a massive thanks for all your hard work, time and efforts - it's definitely worth it."
